Chicken & Duck Talk

If you were born about the same time as I was, or you happened to be around, then you would probably have watched a Chinese (Cantonese) movie of the same title.

And if you happen to like movies, as well as into purchasing original (or otherwise) VCDs/DVDs, then you would also have come across the same title, starring one of the Hui brothers, in outlets like Speedy, Tower Records, Movie Magic (aka Speedy), and VideoEzy.

I recalled watching the movie in my teens with a bunch of teenagers who are my peers, 1-2 years difference. I believe there were about seven/eight of us who used to hangout frequently. We went swimming, movie-ing, waterfalling, church-ing, whatever-ing, etc.

However, this entry isn't about the movie but about... Food. My dinner and supper precisely. My friend, whom I happen to ask out to dinner after I discovered she had done hardtime cleaning her car of some kind of paint-like liquid which mysteriously smeared on her right rear window overnight, led me to PJ State.

We (more I!) had wanted to try out a dim sum restaurant named "Saviour" in PJ Old Town. But on the way out, we decided to go elsewhere because we were hungry and could not endure the traffic jam right outside Petaling Garden.

So, we had duck rice (like the all-common chicken rice) at Restoran Kam Heong (translated "Very Fragrant") before walking opposite to have ten sticks of peanut-sauced-less chicken satay at Restoran South Pacific, which we spent RM9.20 and RM7.00 respectively, not including RM3.60 for two cups of iced lime with sour-plum drinks.

Besides enjoying my friend's company, I enjoyed the delicious food. Not bad for KL food. (My friend told me that the satay, which is served without the usual satay sauce, is delivered daily from Penang. So, it shouldn't really be counted as KL food, right?)

Back to the movie, if you haven't watched it before, or if you want a refresher, by all means, go watch it (again), and I'm sure you won't eat chicken (or duck) the same way ever again... Chicken, oh chicken, I'm going to eat you...
